Exploring Lima

We had a day in Lima to explore which was very nice. Unfortunately, I've taken a lot of nice pictures with my camera that I can't figure out how to load into the iPad. So I can only use pictures that Jared has taken with his iPhone. I plan to load a lot of the others after I get home.

Lima has a cloudy humid climate. They only get 2 inches of rain a year. So our day was like most days, cloudy and humid. Lima is divided into different districts or neighborhoods. Our hotel was in a neighborhood called Miraflores. This is the touristy area of Lima. Lima is huge! Over 9 million people live there. It is so dense and polluted. The people were very friendly and patient with our lack of Spanish.

Our hotel was right on the coast so we had a nice morning exploring the sidewalk that went up and down the coasta verde. You can imagine how many photos the landscape architect took of sidewalks, tree formations and other things that only landscape architects care about.

We went to dinner that night at a nice restaurant on a pier called La Rosa Nautica. We were in jeans and tennis shoes, but I think it was a first date kinda place. They shoved us in the corner and it was just fine. The food was very, very good.

Lots more to update later!!
